Description of the project

Completed in 2017 and located in the district of Froettmaning, right beside the Allianz Arena in Munich, Apassionata Showpalast is a leisure attraction dedicated to horse shows.

The architects, Graft, have developed an interesting, unique design for the park and 12 themed pavilions. The pavilions are open all year round and deliver an interactive adventure in a 360-degree cinema, a horse museum, a foal station and a petting zoo. The park offers space for 1,700 viewers, who can watch the unique horse show on a 40-metre-long stage.

The centrepiece of the park is the Showpalast, the front of which is clad in an undulating folded timber slat screen that appears to take flight – like a galloping horse – especially in the evenings when illuminated by a light show.

Behind the timber slate screen is a stunning glass façade. For this, Guardian SunGuard® HP Silver 43/31 solar protective glass was chosen for its combination of aesthetic and performance qualities. The coated solar control glass reduces glare from direct sunlight and provides excellent solar heat reflection, helping to keep the area cool.
